Final Year Project

Project Title

Prosthetic Arm Control Using EEG-Based Brain Signals

Description

This project aims to develop a non-invasive way for people with disabilities to control a prosthetic limb, through reading electroencephalogram (EEG) brain signals and interpreting them as various hand movements controls that can be displayed in a computer simulation, or used to control a robotic prosthetic arm. This will be a better alternative to a Myoelctric surgery as it will be non-invasive and non-surgical, cutting down on cost and risks of surgery. The originality of the idea lies in the fact that we are focusing on joint movement and not general actions which has not been done before according to our research. Elbow movement which is the first phase of this project has also never been done before.
